Seeing through the eyes of others

poetry and writings based on the truth of life. Everyone sees through their own lenses. Trade glasses with someone else and view your world…and theirs. I write personal, I write upon request and not limited to one area, genre, or style

to whom it may concern

sorry… I’m sorry… that’s like throwing a plate on the floor and the ceramic bursts into 1000 pieces,,,, SORRY will not put it back together!

apologies, mending, weaving, creating, rebuilding, fresh water, fresh food…….

I’ve been thinking about what you’ve been going through, and I need to say this clearly because you deserve to hear it without confusion.
“I apologize ” only means something when it’s followed by change. Without that, it’s just a word people use to keep things from falling apart in the moment. It doesn’t repair anything, and it doesn’t rebuild trust.

Right now, it feels like you’re being asked to carry the weight of someone else’s actions. Being blamed for things you didn’t do, or for choices that weren’t yours, slowly wears you down. And over time, it can make you question yourself more than you question what’s actually happening.

That’s not fair to you.

You didn’t cause someone else to betray you.
And it’s not your responsibility to fix something you didn’t break.

When the same patterns keep repeating; apology, blame, hurt, then apology again,it stops being a mistake and starts being a cycle. And cycles only continue when they’re allowed to.

I know you care.
I know you’ve tried to hold things together.

But you shouldn’t have to make yourself smaller, quieter, or more accepting just to keep the peace. That isn’t love, it’s you slowly losing parts of yourself to maintain something that isn’t being equally protected.

At some point, you have to ask yourself what you’re holding onto: who she says she’ll be, or who she’s consistently showing you she is, by blaming you, making her life your fault, and possibly cheating again because she’s got a pattern of cheating……

Walking away from something that keeps hurting you isn’t failure. It isn’t pride or arrogance. It’s self-respect. It’s choosing not to lose yourself just to keep someone else.

You deserve honesty. You deserve accountability. And you deserve a relationship where “I apologize ” actually means something.
I’m here for you, no matter what you decide. But don’t forget… you matter in this too….. you matter most because she or he has dissed you and blamed you for years
