Seeing through the eyes of others

poetry and writings based on the truth of life. Everyone sees through their own lenses. Trade glasses with someone else and view your world…and theirs. I write personal, I write upon request and not limited to one area, genre, or style

Where you are

Across the prairie, sawgrass leans and sways,
The wheat, the canola, beans all bow to the wind
They move like they know something we don’t,
A slow, easy roll beneath that big ol’ sky.
Manitoba, wide open, farther than the eye can hold,
A beauty that weren’t made by human hands.
Flat country, road after road, straight on through,
Where every line’s just chasin’ that horizon down
But there’s a heart still beatin’ in every town,
Steinbach, Winnipeg, Brandon too, all the same;
And not just here, but anywhere folks slow down,
Away from the noise, the rush, the grind.
There’s a life waitin’ in the quiet places,
A kind of beauty the soul just knows
Peace ain’t found by runnin’ from nothin’,
It’s found by settin’ still and takin’ what’s already yours

So wherever you’re standin’, go on and find that peace, Hold it close, don’t you dare turn away.
